He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio Northern University and a Masters Degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Jim holds a U.S. Patent for an electronic transmission control device. He is an ASE certified Master Automotive Technician and is Advanced Engine Performance (L1) ASE certified. Jim is the author of many automotive textbooks all published by Pearson Education. He has presented numerous technical seminars to national audiences including the California Automotive Teachers (CAT), the Illinois College Automotive Instructor Association (ICAIA), as well as a member and presenter at the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT).   Jim was also named Regional Teacher of the Year by General Motors Corporation and outstanding alumni of Ohio Northern University. the book needs more wiring diagrams . The new ASE tests have lots and lots of wiring diagrams . The book does have lots of sample question but you will see them over and over in different sections . I wouldn't recommend this book for the price it should be around 20 bucks . I am a certified tech and if you are looking for a book to study i would recommend motor age or delmar .

When you first open this book all you get are are style questions for each ase. From transmissions, brakes, engine performance and etc. you get answers at the back of the book, but no refresher on the basics before you take the questions. Unlike the delmar learning books for each ase. A lot of useful questions but not for the beginners looking to take a ase

I tested for Electrical and Engine performance 3/15/16. A lot of the material that was on the test was not covered like diagrams and schematics.

This is not a book for people fresh into the field. This book is little more than practice tests for each ASE and is meant for seasoned technicians to see where they might struggle. The book does what its supposed to do, however, that in itself is worth a five star rating. There are numerous misprints and missing diagrams that detract from its overall quality, which is why I only gave it three stars.

The stories about the formation of Liberia are quite interesting because the nation of Liberia was created from several colonies. The first president of Liberia was Joseph Jenkins Roberts. Numerous boundary issues were overcome before the territory that would make up Liberia was established.The newcomers to Liberia set up a caste system based on the lightness of one skin. The other interesting thing was that the newcomers considered the natives to be unsuitable to become Liberian citizens. The newcomers became the elite of the society. The elites held control until the military coup by Samuel Kenyon. This e-book contains a great deal of information about the founding and political history of Liberia.

Some new individuals and historical information was presented which I found refreshing. Since the book was supposed to be about the Colonization and Establishment I expected the known history involving personalities in the US government to be mentioned. Several very prominent people, including President Monroe (Monrovia), and other officials were involved. What I'm interested in was the funds and fundraising efforts to finance ships and equipment, etc. for the establishment of Liberia. Details of that were missing. Overall, the book is very good for a first time reader on Liberia.

I love reading the history of all kinds (people, places, and things) well now I have found another outlet to get my fill! It is so nice to quickly read about times and people and have all of the important bits right at my fingertips. My thanks to Charles River Editors to publishing all these wonderful books. History at it finest and all so quick!

I like the place where Ozzy indirectly praises Richie Blackmore, by saying that he has preferred hiring some unknown hungry for work guitar players, rather than well known stars with their own ego like (quoting) “some f***ng Richie Blackmore”. I think Richie would be pleased to read this)))) Made me smile! I love both Ozzy and Richie (of course I love Richie more))))One glitch noticed so far: on page 162 under picture it says “Tony Iomy with Clive Burr and Iron Maiden”, as if Ian Paice was not worth mentioning as a separate celebrity. Don’t recall him ever been Iron Maiden. Is it same condescending attitude to drummers that was sadly observed on Bill Ward?? ))

I thought this book was excellent. I bought it as a gift for my friend but was offered a digital book at a cheap price. I downloaded it to my phone and could not stop reading it. I loved it so much I bought real book to have for my collection.

This is a great book from there humble beginnings, thru the peaks and valleys. To being on the top of the rock/ heavy metal world. This book talks about everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. It covers all the lineups of Black Sabbath and the solo projects. This book includes many pictures that I've never seen before.

Great coffee table book. Sits on the table along with the Metallica Master of Puppets book. Whichever band I'm into at the moment gets to be on top.

Really good presentation. The book is big, with lots of pics and really good stories. Believe me for the price...It's a gem for any Black Sabbath fan!

The early years were very interesting. All of the band member changes get a little monotonous. Reading about Ozzy through the years was also interesting. Hope someday he gets to work with Paul McCartney.
