This was recommended on the Into Mind blog along with some other wardrobe/personal care reads. I checked out most of the books on the list from the library, but this one pulled me in and I couldn't put it down. I ended up keeping it past the due date because I didn't want to send it back! Then Christmas rolled around and I bought it as a gift for my older sister and *almost* bought a second one for myself. Shortly after I gave it to her I caved and bought a copy for myself.I have seriously considered buying 3 or 4 copies just to have on hand to give to girlfriends that would appreciate it.

I wanted to love this book. Instead I felt overwhelmed and a bit bored. The writing is clever, the idea great. It just didn't hold my interest as I had hoped. I am sure others will find it dearly engaging. There are some smart contributors and that makes the book fun to flip through. It did remind me of being an art student in the early 90s, which was nice to go back to in my mind. And some of the surveys are just plain fun to read. I like the surveys that are on the book's website.

Loved this book and introduced it to my book club for our December reading. I hosted the meeting and invited participants to bring scarves they have, but never wear, for a scarf swap. Discussion about book was lively with people talking about favorite clothes and remembering their moms outfits. This book was a hit, and busy women (especially around the holidays) can read it by skipping around back and forth. Different sections can be appreciated as they appeal to you, your age, your sensibilities.

I love the Kindle version of this book, so much easier to read than the print version and a whole lot smaller too. The women's stories are very diverse, and inspire me to give more thought to the way I dress. Highly recommended.

This book is beautifully illustrated and the poignant story moves me every time I read it. Its message - about how it is easy to get obsessive about the little things and in doing so miss important things without realizing how important they are at the time - is as true as it ever was. Love it!!

We first read this story from the library and love it - a beautiful story about a woman who is preoccupied with life and misses the Christ child because of it. The pictures are beautiful and it is a gentle reminder of what is most important in life.

It gave me an opportunity to remind me, when I was through an ordeal to survive the years of German occupation when I was only 9 years old, and lost somewhere in the rural aeria., hungry and cold, with determination to keep going, for about two years. In 1943 i find my way back home as of a miracle.

The true story of a little little Polish boy on the run from the Germans and their collaborators during World War II. He's Jewish, of course. The story is powerful enough for one to ot be able to put the book down in any case, but it's also written rather well and seems to spare no effort and letting you into the experience of this kid. He really had courage and grit and stamina. I'd have given up by day three.Wonderful for children to read as well because it's not just compelling but inspiring.I only discovered later that there's a Polish movie on this story.

Surviving the Holocaust was a miracle for such a young boy.His story of survival will enlighten you to the horrors of the time.They will further show the goodness and kindness of many people who opened their homes to the child.HaShem works in mysterious ways to protect his children.A must read!

I suffered a stroke ten years ago which resulted in the loss of any functionality in my left hand and arm. Reading Jurek's story was truly an inspiration for me. My wife and I are planning a trip to Israel in the near future and we would be honored to meet you. Jurek, you have earned and deserve your happiness and success.This book to me is the cornerstone of courage and determination, believe me it truly puts the holocaust and all antisemitism on a level that could affect any of our children. Please read it.

A very moving true story of a young Jewish boy escaping capture by the Germans. His experiences both in the forest and in working for several Polish farmers are amazing. I purchased a copy for my ten year old grandson. Children today in America have such an easy life and need to understand that all can fall apart. Children need to understand about other children who do go hungry and are force to eat things that are gross.I highly recommend the book.

I found this book a bit "easy" for me, but I think it would be perfect for a tween who is looking to explore the Holocaust. I was quite pleased to discover it was based on a real child - like "A Diary of Anne Frank," I think this adds to its charm. I would definitely recommend it to parents looking for age-appropriate books.

My son and I loved this book. We gave a copy to Jewish friends who have Polish ancestry. It is a book of great suffering and triumph.
