This is a copy of my review for the "Dot Journaling" book; it is just as important to leave here, as the author is plagiarizing her entire book while taking money from customers who unknowingly could get this information free. The original creator, Ryder Carroll, has all of his trademarked content (what is found in this book that has been stolen and renamed to make money) posted free at bulletjournal.com. Calling Miller an "early adopter" is laughable; bullet journaling predates her "dot journaling": Carroll created his trademarked bullet journaling method in 2013. Miller's first article about bullet journaling on Buzzfeed, "WTF Is A Bullet Journal And Why Should You Start One? An Explainer [sic]" was written on May 31, 2016, and mentions her starting bullet journaling in January of 2016, a full three years after bullet journaling was created and had time to flourish. While yes, Miller acknowledges Carroll in her blog, she does not mention that his methods in their entirety are freely accessible at his website, which she has repackaged them in book form to be sold for $12.95 retail (or whatever price they are being sold for).

I thought it was cute! But as I look at it, it’s a lot smaller than I thought but i thought oh well it’s fine and then as I’m writing I notice it’s bleeding through onto the other pages. This is not recommended at all. Not worth your money

This is exactly what I needed. I have poured over blog post after Pin after Instagram post trying to find the bullet journal path right for me. The way it is arranged makes it so easy to get started, like someone is holding your hand the whole way. (Which, pathetically, is what I need sometimes) I am a terrible over thinker and this book helped me get to the point and go with the flow. I love how she explains things, I even LOLed at some parts. Highly recommended for people like me who are anxious overthinkers, procrastinators, and have a fear of not doing something "right." This will give you a great foundation for your dot journal journey.

This is a pretty good set. It’s what you see in the picture, no surprises. The book covers Bullet Jounaling, just calls it “dot journaling”. Don’t worry if you wondered if it was different-you’re getting both BuJo coverage and a bit of diary writing advice. There are quite a bunch of author opinions in there with regard to previous journal writers. I almost got the impression that I was being shamed a bit for how I’ve written in my BuJo for the past year, but it’s mine so meh (lol!). Upside, the author gives a couple of samples in each section, and Briefly explains the differences, which is useful for a newbie. I didn’t see much that was unique, so as an existing Bullet Journal user it was mostly a review. There are a bunch of people on Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube etc who offer the info in the book for free, but for what I typically pay for Moleskin (or similar) you can get both the reference book & the dot journal. Why not see if you can learn something new in those 200-ish pages?Journal Does have pocket at the back, which is critical for me. It also has a strap to close the book, but not a string to use as a page marker (I wanted that...). I had to add my own page finder, but that’s simple enough. It hasn't bled through on me yet, so the paper seems like it will be thick enough :).Note: The journal it comes with can gets dirty quickly if you’re not careful; the book has a light color cover made from what seems to be a pretty inexpensive material. The color is nice, but I don’t think it’ll stay that way for long.

Journal's paper is so thin & all the different kinds of pens I tried bleed through. I am enjoying the book though. The set isn't worth the money, I would just buy the book separately.

This set is perfect because you get to have something immediately available to try out the various suggestions in the text. The text is also full of lots of suggestions. Some reviewers have criticized the book for its simplicity. However, it is deceptively simple in that it leaves tons of room for your own creativity and needs to actually create a dot journal that will work for you. I’ve revisited the text repeatedly and also if I get stuck or something isn’t working for dot journaling for me if my life changes around. I plan to keep the book for a future reference because it’s that useful as a base for dot journaling.

For the longest time I have carried a planner and a journal/todo list. It's been big and bulky and it become more cumbersome than useful. When I saw this book, I was so excited. I can combine the two!! It can have blemishes and not be perfect! I need instructions and examples and I need to touch and feel things. And that's why I like having the physical book. This book has been a wealth of information and templates for me to try out. I've gotten confident enough in the layout format to not carry the book around. I'm going on a vacation soon and I have all the info written in the day, and I can journal about it too. The dot journal included is a great introductory dot journal. Pocket and little band around it.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and making good use of the included blank dotted journal. I liked the simplicity of the journal sample pages and pretty much copied the templates provided in the book. I think this book gives a good place for those interested in starting a bullet journal, how to create pages, and what tools and materials can be used to begin. This book is great for beginners but also for those who tried bullet journaling but couldn't maintain the highly creative pages in bullet journals seen online.

THE TEASERA teaser is a loathsome device designed to catch browsing customers in bookstores with upfront action, albeit out of context. In practice, teasers usually only confuse and mislead readers. In "True Blue" the teaser is a "flash-ahead" in which U.S. Assistant Attorney Jamie Meldon is abducted by FBI agents and killed, on the orders of FBI director Jarvis Burns on with the knowledge of Director of National Intelligence Sam Donaldson. This event actually occurs about 1/3 of the way into the novel, by which time most readers will have forgotten the names of the characters and probably the events as well.THE SETUPFormer policewoman Mace Perry has just been released from prison after two years, having been framed. Her sister, Beth Perry, the Chief of Police of Washington DC arranges a job for Mace as a research assistant for a very rich man. The vague implausible "research" involves improving the lives of selected inter-city poor, and recording their progress. Then an attorney Diane Tolliver is killed. We eventually find out that Meldon (from the teaser) was killed because he had met with Tolliver. For some incomprehensibly implausible reason, Mace believes that if she can solve Tolliver's murder, then her felony conviction will be magically "forgotten" and she will be reinstated as a police officer. Tolliver leaves some very cryptic clues with an associate (corporate lawyer) she was not really close to, Roy Kingman. For some vague reason, Roy teams up with Mace. The same weird team of spooks who killed Tolliver attempt to kill Roy and Mace, but implausibly give up (at least for a while) when their first attempt fails.COMMENTSThe plot is contrived, implausible, and convoluted. The sense of unreality is pretty much the only constant. We (the readers) initially believe and hope that Baldacci will brilliantly pull it all together, with rational explanations for everything, to our amazement and devoted applause. And if so, "True Blue" will be the greatest Baldacci novel ever, a monumental achievement. But that doesn't happen. For example, Mace's six-figure salary and use of a mansion with a gourmet chef, for a (normally minimum wage) research assistantship is something from a fantasy world---especially considering that she is not expected to do any actual work on the alleged project. It is obvious to the reader that the research project must be bogus (fictional), and that Altman (the rich guy) will turn out to be some sort of perv, and probably the eminence grise behind the murders. Right?Okay, I know, Mace/Roy rescue ONE inner-city mother and her son, but that's gotta be a red herring. Right? And moreover, that has to be the setup for something really awful to happen to them while in residence in the rich old bachelor's mansion. Right?Nope. If you want to enjoy "True Blue" you have to throttle down your own intellect to idle, cease to be suspicious of implausibilities, cease to expect logical consequences, and just enjoy the action for its own sake.Mace and Roy are interesting characters. Most other characters, such as "Psycho" are absurd cardboard cutouts. The Perry sisters could be the beginning of a great series---perhaps in the hands of ghost-writers following Baldacci outlines (since Baldacci has apparently given up the fine art of handcrafting rich brilliant novels).THE VERDICTIf you like interesting characters and action, and don't really care if it makes any sense, then you'll probably enjoy "True Blue".I've followed many other once great authors decline, as they begin churning out junk to meet contract deadlines, but I've never seen so steep a plunge. FAREWELL DAVE BALDACCI, WE WILL MISS YOU.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

I enjoyed reading this book. The character development was good and. The ntrigue kept me very much involved. I did not understand all the financial intrigue, but got the important part. I have always enjoyed a Baldacci book and will buy another. A good read. Mickey

I like the characters that the author creates. They are real and flawed like the rest of us. I cared hat happened to them in the twists and turns of the wonderfully masterful plot. In other words, I couldn't put the book down!

Some how I missed this book in my quest to read every Baldacci book in the order they were written. I am very glad I discovered it. Lots of suspenseful action and Baldacci does a good job of creating and describing his characters so you can visualize each one. Great book! Worth every page turned!

Two sisters both police, well at one time were, and a lawyer too, get involve in a murder, and it get going from there, as I said at times it's a little boring then pick up real fast so you want to keep going, though the ending was a little connie but if you a David Baldacci fan you will enjoy it, give it a try.

Not Baldaccci's best. I liked this the least of any of his books. And I've read them all. He's my favorite author.

I have read all of David's books - some three and four times and love them! But while writing is still very good, I did not like ANY of the people. They did not seem real or reasonable. More King and Maxwell. No more Mace, she is unreal. Actually nasty. With K /M we find their feelings, not so with mace. At least not real ones.

I’m so annoyed. Decided to purchase this book even thou it was $10 because I really liked the other 3 I read from this author which were only $7. Im only on chapter 14 but I’m thinking about giving up on it because I cannot stand that silly main character. If I thought one of the other people in the book would come along and shove her smart ass off that stupid motorcycle and send her tough skinny girl ass back to jail I would continue reading. Oh well, you win you lose.

I really enjoyed this book; Strong plot and characters. I felt immersed in the story and was sorry when the book ended. I’d really like to see the Perry sisters return. My only issue was the use of the word bandit to describe bad guys. It’s not the 1800s. Find a better word.
