Raza Pasha, MD is a Board Certified Ear, Nose, and Throat-Head and Neck Surgeon with extensive training and research experience. He is a sole author of a highly rated comprehensive review book on his specialty. To receive certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Pasha completed an undergraduate degree, four years of medical school, and five years of specialty training. Dr. Pasha has been published in many medical journals and completed research in many institutions, including The Cleveland Clinic, Texas Medical Center, Detroit Medical Center, and Ohio State University. His has also published a review book on Ear, Nose, and Throat-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Pasha is a strong advocate for patient education. He believes that maximal therapeutic benefit occurs when patients understand their diagnoses and therapy.Justin S. Golub, MD, is an assistant professor of otology/neurotology/skull base surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia University. He completed a fellowship in neurotology at the University of Cincinnati and a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Washington. He obtained his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. During his training, he has completed research fellowships at the University of Washington and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the author of more than thirty peer-reviewed publications in otolaryngology and has coedited three books. It gives you a general idea about licensing, especially if this is your first book. Unfortunately, I had already read Maria Brophy's "Art, Money, Success" book and she had already covered all that so I felt like I was reading something old.

I feel the book is worth the money spent on it.

I am an art licensing agent, and I use this book, along with a few other references, on a regular basis. It could probably be updated, like a previous reviewer stated, but it is still very helpful when determining royalty rates. It is good for an artist just starting to license, as it's easy to follow and is a great introduction into licensing art.

It's all there in a nutshell.

My wife is happy with the book and it is giving her the information that she was looking for.

I did a lot of reviewing of licensing art before choosing this one and I'm glad I did. We did not have to wait long for it to arrive and it has been very helpful and easy to understand.

Despite a boom in licensing and totally new markets exploding for licensed artwork and design (especially with opportunities for American and European artists, designers and industrial designers now working directly with Chinese manufacturers), this old tome is unfortunately still one of the better books available for the creative/businessperson. This subject desperately needs revising and updating... hello? Caryn R. Leland? We need you!

As an aspiring journalist, this book heavily inspired me to face my fears and pursue whatever goals and desires I may have. Kasinof describes in great detail her experiences stepping into a whole new and intimidating world, but facing it with bravery and tenacity. I would recommend this read to any aspiring journalist, or anybody in the process of travelling to a new country.

Kasinof does an excellent job portraying a young woman's professional and personal journey while telling a story of political upheaval that few people know anything about. The book is funny in a way I wasn't expecting, and shines honest light both on what it means to be a journalist and what it takes to make a revolution.

This is a well written book with no ambition to be academic. I follow Yemen on a daily basis so in that sense this book did not really add much new insights. What I found interesting is the way the story is told. Its a very personal account of the challenges a young aspiring journalist are faced with. The book has a few fast phased sections but at times its some what repetitive. Even if you are well read up on what is going on in Yemen this book adds value to most readers. I truly enjoyed it and I would recommend this book as a introduction to journalists and any one interested in the events in Yemen during 2011.If you are looking for a hard core well researched book on Yemen I suggest you buy "Why Yemen Matter" edited by Helen Lackner.

I couldn't put this book down! Ms. Kasinof is not only an excellent journalist who covered a situation when no one else was brave enough to do so, her work also makes it easy and fun to learn about the Yemeni protest movement. Kasinof gives many examples that get to the heart of the beauty (and the sadness) of the Yemeni people and the situation they face - bad governance, a weak state, poverty, dwindling resources, etc. What emerges is a narrative that reveals that Yemen is far more than just the battleground against Al-Qa'ida depicted in the U.S. media. The author is honest about her own weakness and insecurities. She gives us some insight into the brave (and perhaps slightly deviant or naive!) young people who commit themselves to immersion in Arabic language, culture, and politics. Kasinof is frank about how little she knew going into the situation, as well as what it was like becoming one among a small minority of experts on Yemeni politics. In addition to being informative, the book was also funny. I particularly enjoyed her tale about becoming a Yemeni soap opera star! Full disclosure: I am an academic who studies the politics of the Middle East. That said, I would recommend Kasinof's book to any person interested in getting a taste of the complexity of Yemeni political issues. It is readable, funny, sad, and true.

I know Laura, so of course I am partial to the book. Yet I am happy to recommend it for a number of reasons. Yemen is often in the news, and here is a book that gives you an insight into what the country is like, and how it is experienced, and how there are tensions and fissures and clans, and how these things are negotiated. All of this is woven into a very personal account, making it much more engaging than what you would read in a book that sets out to explain the region.Another aspect that I thought was really highly unusual in the book is the candour with which the author tells her story. Often people coming back from war zones put on a kind of jaded persona, and it's a studied effort. Here, instead, we get a very personal account that is frank about the excitement, even the giddiness, of some of the work, among turmoil and loss. That's incredibly rare, for an author to put herself out like this, and for that reason too, this book is immensely readable. Very happy to recommend it very highly.

I am a huge fan of the medieval masterpiece "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," and so grateful that history was kind enough to leave us with a single surviving copy of it, so that we could realize how diverse, imaginative and rich in cultural mythology that Medieval society was. While we don't know the identity of the "Gawain Poet," his (or her) legacy has allowed us to realize that a local, native English literary tradition was thriving in the 14th century, and that many more masterpieces lost to us likely existed. I had read this poem years ago in a modern translation, and was instantly smitten .... The imagery that hearkened back to a deeply observant and poetic vision of the world, which so often seems lost in our digital-obsessed, anti-intellectual society today; the deft weaving of ancient pre-Christian symbolism with Christian themes prevalent at the time of the poem; the epic of Sir Gawain's quest, his inner turmoil and -- ultimately -- his humanity as he wrestled to reconcile his fear of what he was sure to be impending death with his sense of moral and chivalric duty: All these elements deeply resonated with me.As one with a deep and abiding love for and fascination with Old English and Middle English literature, culture, history and the medieval sensibility, I had come to want to experience this epic, powerful poem in its original tongue -- the northern Middle English dialect of the Gawain Poet. Finding such a copy -- and more than that, a version where the idiosyncrasies of that dialect's Middle English orthography were left intact (not standardized into Modern English equivalents) proved more challenging that I expected.When I learned that J.R.R. Tolkien -- not just beloved author of his own epic mythology, but eminent Old English (and linguistic scholar) -- had written his own analysis of the poem, and presented it, orthographically, virtually unchanged from the original, I was ecstatic. Tolkien's insights are to be trusted, and this particular book provides useful appendices on pronunciation of Middle English, notes on word meanings and interesting notes about the original manuscript in which the poem was discovered, and other fascinating context.For anyone with a love of historical English literature, this poem is a must, and I highly recommend reading this poem, if possible, in the original Middle English. So much is ultimately lost in translation -- especially when authors strive to preserve the unique alliterative structure of the poem. For those who might be intimidated by the quirks and inconsistencies of Middle English spelling, and the strangeness of several of the words, never fear: Middle English bears many similarities to Modern English, and once one gets a feel for the pronunciation (and becomes more acquainted with some key Middle English vocabulary), it becomes a thoroughly enjoyable and enriching experience to travel back nearly 700 years to recite this magnificent treasure of English literature in its original tongue.

This translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is rich in color, full of action, written with respect for the original poetry (in a Northern dialect of Middle English that partakes heavily of Old English and Old Norse influences). The richness of the story, the surroundings (both natural and courtly), and the vivid descriptions of hunting and fighting, make this very important knightly adventure jump off the page.

The standard text for serious aficionados of "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," edited byJRR Tolkien--cf Lord of the Rings. It still has the same green cover and illustration that it had35 years ago in my Pearl Poet class! It presents the Middle English text without the accompaniment of a modern English translation. However, 61 pages of detailed notes and 68 pages of extensive glossery make this bookwell worth having for those who want the experience of reading the original text. A lot is lost in translation,even within the same language. Going from Middle English to Modern English is a lot like drinking warm cokethat's been left out overnight in a glass--the real essence is gone. So I'd recommend the struggle the textdemands. It's really worth it and Tolkien's notes and glossery are a great help. You can get Tolkien's translation to Modern English in another book, without the Middle English, if you want to have that extra assistance.

The author of this little masterpiece is unknown. This story - or 'romance' if you like - was found in a little manuscript that was written in c.1380. There are three other stories in that manuscript presumably by the same author.King Arthur, his wife Guinevere, and the Knights of The Round Table are celebrating Christmas and New Year at the famous castle 'Camelot'. One evening a huge knight on horseback bursts into the Hall during dinner, brandishing a large and fearsome battle-axe. Everything about him is green, not only his armor - as one might expect - but also his face, his hair, and even his horse. He has come in peace as he is advertising more than once. In short he says: who is bold enough to step forward and try to chop my head off with this battle-axe? But after one year and a day it will be my turn to deal a blow. Gawain, one of the Knights of The Round Table, steps forward, takes the axe and beheads the Green Knight. As if nothing happened the Green Knight picks up his head, takes it under his arm and the head says: a year and one day from now it will be my turn to give you a blow. You have to promise that you will come looking for me. You can find me at the Green Chapel ( It's almost a joke but who knows? Maybe this is all just a joke ). If you survive my blow I will give you a great reward. The Knight doesn't want to say where the Green Chapel can be found. It's far away from here but you will find people who can show you the way. And remember, you promised. And so the adventure begins for Gawain. He has to go without a companion. He stands on his own for that was a part of the deal.This Fantasy element is the only one in the story. Everything else is realistic. That could be an indication that some scholars are right when they say that the Green Knight is a symbol for the reviving of Nature after the winter. There is a parallel between this symbolism and Gawain who's becoming more mature as the story unfolds. Throughout the story he's tempted in many ways to betray his vow of chastity and loyalty to the Virgin Mary, and near the and of the story he's tempted into cowardice. After all is said and done Gawain has a more realistic view on knighthood. He becomes adult and reaches a new stage in his life just like the revival of Nature by the Green Knight.One of the things I like in this medieval romance are the hunting scenes described very vividly and in great detail. It starts with a description of the animal they want to hunt down: its strong and weak points. During the chase it is as if you can hear the horns blow and the shouts of the hunters, the barking of the hounds and the grunting of the wounded animal and it ends with the cutting of the meat after the bowels are given to the hounds as a reward.Bernard O' Donoghue has done a very fine job in translating this little masterpiece of medieval literature. It's a vivid and a very readable verse translation of this engrossing adventure.

As a language teacher, I find this book as an excellent overview of the Spanish language. It is presented in a very simple, easy to understand manner. BUT beware when ordering this for your Kindle reader. It only is formatted for certain Kindle;'s. I have a Paper White Kindle and it can not be loaded. This audio book helped me go over a lot of the Spanish I have forgotten over the years. I enjoyed the teaching method of covering the main types of verbs, such as ER and AR verbs, and the way they are spoken in general with most various pronouns; all followed by a great refresher course in many, many vocabulary words you'll be able to use right away. Thus, it really is a way to lean Spanish in a week!

Interested in the trucking industry i bought this book open minded. After reading it it opened my eyes to potential considerations prior to choosing my possible next career path. Great book with examples and detailed. Loved it actually...read it off and on about an hour a day for 3 days until i finished it. Easy to follow. Good writer.

I have not driven in over 30 years. I am faced with a career change after 24 years in a technology industry. Even though I have a CDL already, this was a good overview about the industry in this day and age. It seems that there are even pitfalls with local routes so choices have to be made at every turn. A good read for me.

I bought this book because I've found James O'Keefe's exploits very entertaining, so, I figured this book would be a fun read, which it is. However, it is much more than that. I'm struck by just how principled and serious he is about his work. His meticulous sources and footnotes evince a professionalism rarely seen among journalists. Yes, O'Keefe deliberately makes his reporting entertaining so as to get maximum exposure, but, the points he makes and the service he provides speak for themselves.

The events described in this book were covered for several months in online news sources and Fox News. But the in-depth insights behind that reporting are nearly always better explained in a book like this. For anyone who wants more insight into the 2017 Trump campaign, this is an entertaining read and should afford you some insider knowledge not reported elsewhere. The Russian collusion hoax is not covered, that broke after this book was put to bed.

I am a fan of O'Keefe and his fight for truth. His videos are sometimes disjointed - so I was pleasantly surprised to find he is a very good writer. The book gives some back-story on the many Veritas video projects which was very interesting. O'Keefe also gives a history of investigative journalism. This is an important book for those who support freedom of the press and hope this freedom brings us the truth.

So I will say I am skeptical of James O'Keefe because I don't think he does enough balanced reporting (lots of attacks on the progressive movement but not enough for the right) but overall I was impressed by this book and it does go to show how biased all news sources are and how we cannot and should not ever trust the main stream media.

This book was a page turner. So interesting and informative. Have great respect for James O'Keefe and his team. I think everyone should read this book for educational purposes, for informational purposes. The reader can decide if they want to believe, but it should get a number folks thinking. This is about integrity and honesty.

Americans and most other countries as well should no longer trust their long established mainstream media sources. When all relevant news and information is funneled through a progressive socialist filter you just don't get the truth you get a politically corrected lie instead. If you want to hear what the people that are manipulating the newsrooms are really up to, why not get it directly from them. Of course you will have to be aware that they are unaware of being recorded, but the words they speak come directly from them. No matter how he hard he has been attacked O'Keefe is performing a long needed public service. As one Lt. Colonel once told me, "If you're over the target you're getting flak. O'Keefe is uncomfortably over the extreme lefts target of lies and hidden agendas. If you are skeptical or already aware this book is a must read.

I make a habit of always reading the most negative reviews first to see why someone saw the book differently,. Most of the negative reviews never specifically said why the book was "crap" or stupid they just wrote that and walked away; what they did not say was that the undercover conversations were false !!!! a major concession in my mind. Then of course the interviews were fixed or edited...James has given his critics the whole conversations on more than one occasion so I'm thinking the writers might not have been on the "right" side(bad joke) on my part. To see the underbelly of these organizations whether you love James or hate him was a revelation. I mean you "ambushed " me so I said what I really think. What kind of journalism is that. Obviously every one has private views but when you work for a newspaper it is supposed to be more like the motto of Yale, Lux et veritas

Not one of my greatest reads.. I was disappointed so after being bored, I resorted to skimming this book.
