William Shakespeare was born in April 1564 in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, on England’s Avon River. When he was eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway. I am a college adjunct faculty English teacher and I wanted a simple edition with notes for my class to read in the fall. I was going to order 20 of these for the class, but I am so glad I first bought one for myself. The paper edition doesn't have any spaces between the speakers, either, so it is difficult to read, even if it were written in language my students, mostly college freshmen, could easily understand. They would give up on this edition. Also, there are absolutely NO NOTES for students that define and explain some of the more obscure vocabulary and written expressions. The text underneath this edition on Amazon did NOT say that there were no notes. It is not helpful AT ALL for a new reader of Shakespeare or a reader who only read it in high school unwillingly. I am going to order something else for my class.

As noted by other reviewers, this edition provides but a fraction of what it promises. There are no annotations, no photographs — a historical impossibility of monumental absurdity — of the author, nor any of the other promised features. Beyond that, it does not even include a dramatis personnae, a hallowed standard for any dramatic work. Even the ratings provided by Kindle were for other Shakespeare plays. ... Is there no quality control for works published by Kindle? This was such a sham that it makes me very leery about future purchases from Kindle, especially for editions with which I am not familiar.

This is probably the worst book I've ever received. Characters are not marked. There is no formatting. It is just a wall of text. Don't buy this. Get a different copy of this play.

When I saw Romeo & Juliet in the theatre -- on its opening weekend -- after the film in the lobby I saw dozens of teenaged girls sobbing in each other's arms. I've never seen anything like that before or since. That alone marks the film as a masterpiece, and nothing any critic can say is relevant next to that emotional reaction. Those sobbing teenagers are absolute proof that any critic who panned this film is a fool.Di'Caprio wasn't very famous at that point (though I believe he'd already been nominated for an oscar for an indy film). Later that night, I had dinner with friends and predicted that this boy would become the biggest star in Hollywood -- by tomorrow! I was off by a couple of years. Rare in film history has there been such a perfect casting -- Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo. The mythical balcony scene is freshly designed and executed wonderfully, bringing the myth to life before our eyes. But the crowning glory and superpower of this film is the 'love at first sight' scene - ironic in that there are no words spoken (words being Shakespeare's superpower). It's all done with the eyes by the two young genius actors, combined with inspired camera work and the devastating vocal performance of Des'ree. This is one of the most beautiful, greatest, and most powerful scenes in cinematic history.What is this emotion -- love at first sight? It might only happen two or three times in our entire lives. It isn't real love. So is it just trivial, adolescent silliness? I think it is much more than that -- and so did Shakespeare. What is our emotional relationship with our desires that can never be? We're haunted forever by the impossiblity of perfect love as much as we were ever thrilled by the fantasy of it. Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo & Juliet' taps deeply into the impossible longings that never leave us. It is a masterpiece.

As an English teacher, teaching Shakespeare can be quite a challenge. For modern students, trying to connect the concepts, theme, and setting of Romeo and Juliet can be quite a challenge. Keeping them engaged in the struggle of Shakespearean language is even more so. This version of the play is accurate and most importantly, entertaining. We, as a class, will read a portion of the play and then I will show this film to help cement ideas, dialogue, and characters. The students love the film, laugh, and respond better to the play than without!

I did not want to see this movie for years after its release. I consider myself a purist where the Bard of Avon is concerned. I adored the films Henry V & Much Ado About Nothing, both directed and starring Kenneth Branaugh, Richard III starring and directed by Olivier. Period costumes, true to Shakespeare's lines, etc. I began to change when I realized (fairly early on in watching it) that 10 Things I Hate About You, was a delightful retelling of The Taming Of The Shrew. Eventually I watched this and found a gem. From the factions portrayed as rival gangs, to the outstanding delivery of the lines. The true crowning jewel is the over the top performance by the inimitable John Leguizamo. As Tibalt, John is amazing.

I really enjoy Marie's blog and look forward to each new post. She has a real talent and I'm happy she's chosen to share it with us. I must say however that I think someone along the line (publisher?) has done her a great disservice when it come to the Kindle edition of this book.Many of the fractional measurements seem to be images rather than actual text. They are very tiny & fuzzy (yes, even when I make the font size larger because it's an image, not text). This has rendered much of the book useless to me as I just cannot read the tiny, fuzzy pictures that describe the fractional amounts. (Example posted with review)Consequently I'm unable to review this book based on its make-up formulas, as I really cannot read the amounts and therefore not able to make any of the products 😞I think the best solution is they should republish using the correct format and provide it free of charge to those of us that have already purchased it.

Let me just say how excited I am to leave this review. I have followed Marie on her blog for quite some time, and I just adore her passion for diy cosmetics, skin care, and soap. She is witty and clever and her personality is reflected wonderfully in her writing. When this book arrived today, I was giddy with delight as I flipped through all the pages to look at her new recipes. Having made my own makeup for a couple years, I am not a novice but if you are, no worries. There is a plethora of background info on ingredients and techniques so that you can feel very comfortable starting from scratch in developing your own products at home. Marie makes a concerted effort to use as many natural ingredients as possible in her recipes, yet she also develops recipes that are very "professional" and "high end" in nature. In other words, they work! Now that might not seem like a big deal to you, but that's a slippery slope as it's often tricky to not use a bunch of chemicals to achieve long lasting lipstick and mineral makeup. In addition, I can tell she really focused on ingredients that were easy to source. Many of the ingredients you are likely to find locally, but if not, she has an extensive list of stockists and suppliers at the end of the book for customers all over the *world*. Most of the recipes are limited to 10 or less ingredients which also makes these recipes very beginner/budget friendly as who wants to buy 20 different ingredients to make lip balm? Not me! For a more experienced diyer, you can use some of the recipes to tweak or experiment with some of your own recipes. I, myself, have been inspired to play with a couple additional ingredients that I am not currently using. In conclusion, I highly recommend this book at a treat for yourself or a loved one and I can't wait for future books from Marie :)

I was introduced to Marie's work via her blog and had just began making homemade soaps and lotions. As most people, I try to balance products that have ingredients I understand and know aren't bad for you and products that work! I was hesitant to purchase this book and the materials because it's a large initial investment (I spent $50 to get makeup making supplies, but I can make almost everything in the book...I already had many of the oils and such from making soaps and lotion so this was makeup specific supplies). I was worried I would invest and be disappointed with the outcome and have all these weird ingredients.However, makeup making proved to be a success! In about an hour I was able to make a concealer, makeup, and airbrushing powder. I'm in my mid-30s with some large pores and fine lines showing. I found the dry mineral makeup was too dry and settled in my imperfections too much. However add that dry power to the liquid recipe and magic! I loved the coverage. I also found that my face looked great throughout the day. With my store bought makeup I had to reapply every time I was going to go somewhere. I just don't feel this way with this makeup.I also tried both her long-wear and creamy vegan lipstick recipes. Let me say as someone who has always struggled to make lipstick color selections, having the freedom to sit there and tweak my own lipstick color to my liking is a game changer. I used both carmine, brown and red oxides, and a mica for shimmer. In the future I will order ultramarine to allow for some more cool tints. I did feel that the long-wear lipstick was a bit dry: I had to be sure my lips were moisturized before applying for it to work. I loved the creamy recipe...felt like it was doing great things to my lips and providing color!The way that Marie approaches skin care in the book is really nice...she is giving you enough recipes to do a total cleansing, moisturizing, and makeup routine all DIY. I look forward to trying more of these recipes out and possibly being free from the beauty industry...now wouldn't that be amazing ladies?

This is a FABULOUS book! I've searched for books on at-home cosmetic formulation and really found very few and those that I did find looked lacking. Marie's book is a treasure! There are clear directions on formulating and blending colors, different options to choose from if you prefer vegan recipes, and she makes YouTube videos to correspond with things in her book so you can see what she's actually doing. Her website, Humblebee and Me, has oodles more recipes for you to make and valuable information you need for formulating your own cosmetic and personal care products. If you're looking into making your own products, look no further! Marie's book and website are all you need. But be warned....this will become a serious addiction!

This book was really helpful for my Trademarks course. There are many examples and it lays out each concept in a comprehensible manner. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is taking a Trademarks course.

This is a very solid guide that will help you get a firm footing in trademark law.

Everything you need to know about designing a trademark, filing a trademark, advising clients, protecting trademarks and tackling trademark infringement is in this book. It's exceptionally easy to read; unlike almost all other lawbooks.

I didn't find this helpful - it's too basic to be of any real use.

This covers a lot more than basic broth, although he does teach 'how-to' in detail. It's a fun read, will give everyone ideas & encouragement. My input: Use as clean bones as you can : no antibiotics or GMO grains/alfalfa fed to animals, best of all would be grass-fed or wild (hunters, save your bones, they are healthy!) Free-range chickens, the best you can find. Backyard chickens that are fed non-GMO grain/scratch, freely forage for insects, fed organic or eat wild greens are top of the line! The insects are full of Omega 3's, which we are starving for. We NEED healthy fats to live well, thrive. The Big Lie that is destroying us Americans is that FAT IS BAD. The author even went to Thailand to learn more about traditional broths and soups. He is a well-studied chef with a knack for tasty soup recipes! Mr. Fear is also a very intelligent Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with a thriving practice that helps people take back their health, heal their digestion, inflammation, and more! This cookbook is only a snippet of his awesome work. I have been a follower of his blog, "Fearless Eating," for a while, and I have gleaned lots of good nutrition advice that has improved my health. I use a few of his posts as references for friends who see how healthy I am and want advice. I use this book often, especially in the winter when I'm constantly making soup!

Found the book original and inspiring. Wonderfully written, even funny at times.In the 'out of the box' part of the book, the author challenges our western ideas of what a 'healthy' breakfast should be. Instead, he offers an alternative: eat broths for breakfast!As I myself have been having soups and broths for breakfasts for years now, I did not need convincing to know that it is a great idea (especially in winter). But the author's recipes are so much more creative than my own that I learned a great deal from him. Am now going to experiment with his ideas and include them in my cooking (for example, have never heard of Congee before).For those readers who want to stay 'in the box', there is a selection of traditional soups with little tweaks and variations. Something for everybody.All in all, a great cookbook for healthy living.

An excellent book on soups and broths. Enjoyed it tremendously. Like every recipe book I have ever had I do not use all the recipes included. For example my wife and I aren't big on fish so those recipes are of little use to us. But there are a good number which are right down our alley. Most of these recipes are simple and do not require exotic ingredients, which is a common shortcoming of too many cookbooks. Also appreciate the "cook" as opposed to the "chef" approach adopted in this book. Thank you Craig Fear for that. I am interested in becoming a better and more versatile cook not a chef. The broth breakfast section is priceless in my opinion and worth the price of the book. Highly recommended.

This book has really opened my eyes to many non-western diet options. Everything I have made from these recipes has been super delicious but even better these recipes have helped me take more control over my diet. A great read!

Great BookI'm really enjoying this book and the recipes I've tried so far are excellent. I've made some of them more than once. The author makes the story of broth interesting and it's a very nice read. I've been making broth for years but bought this due to the concept of having broth in a dish for breakfast. Can't wait to try that too.

I love the way this book is written. very engaging read with stories woven into the recipes. Great instructions on a variety of bone broths apart from the soups. This is a great book for newbies and veterans alike. The author seems to be really passionate about his subject and it really comes across.
